Mary Poppins Returns (2018)

25 years after a nanny made their lives whimsical, the Banks family has, once again, fallen on hard times. Michael, a widowed father of three, is struggling to keep the bank from repossessing his house, while his sister Jane, a labor organizer, is doing all she can to keep Michael from breaking down. Just when it seems like all hope is lost, Mary Poppins, the very same nanny who filled their lives with magic and musical numbers, descends from the heavens, intent on saving the family from despair with the power of song and dance. What else?

Aquaman (2018)

Born of two worlds, Arthur Curry, the Aquaman, has never felt like he belonged. Despite possessing the immense strength, ability to breathe under water, and ear for “fish-speak” common among his mother’s Atlantean brethren, Arthur’s part-human heritage has made him an outcast, and ineligible for the throne. Arthur, for his part, has never had any interest in becoming King, preferring to get drunk, and save sailors from tsunamis. But when his half-brother, Orm, decides to wage war on the surface, ostensibly as revenge for decades of pollution, Arthur is forced to challenge him for the throne, first in ritual combat, and then by retrieving Poseidon’s trident, which can only be wielded by the true heir. Failure to do so will mean millions dead, and the Oceans rising to swallow the surface. Can Arthur and his partner Mera stop Orm in time? Watch the movie and find out.

Bumblebee (2018)

When his home is torn apart by war, the transforming robot B-127 must find refuge elsewhere. He leaves, and lands on a distant world, a world he hopes will remain untouched by his planet’s conflict; Earth circa 1987. There, after getting his vocal cords damaged, he takes the shape of a Volkswagen Beetle, and hides in a junkyard, hoping no one will notice him. Much to his surprise, Charlie, a teenage gear head mourning the death of her father, purchases him, hoping to escape her mundane life. It doesn’t take long, however, for her to discover his true identity, and for the two to become close friends, with her even giving him the nickname “Bumblebee.” But their joy is short-lived, as the American military, as well as the alien war criminals hoping to hunt Bumblebee down, are hot on his trail. Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse (2018)

One night, while drawing graffiti with his Uncle, Brooklyn teen Miles Morales is bitten by a radioactive spider. This grants him the ability to climb on walls and jump really high, as well as turn invisible and zap people with venom. In effect, he becomes another Spider-Man. This is a big deal, because, until now, Miles always thought there was just one Spider-Man. And, in a very tragic sense, there is, since Miles witnesses the original, Peter Parker Spider-Man get murdered by a dimension opening portal (long story). So now, in addition to having to take up all the responsibilities of the original Spider-Man, Miles must also contend with several other Spider People, including Spider-Woman, Spider-Man Noir, the anthropomorphic pig Spider-Ham, and the mech-suit-wearing Peni Parker, all of whom have been brought to his dimension by the portal.
